8/365 #每日共读 《和米奇一起学钢琴》 Not a typical book to be read, but a music book! The younger one is interested in the piano nowadays so just letting him tinker around. He can't read musical notation now at 3.5, so the numbering and colours help him to identify the keys to play. Oh, the smile, when he figures out the notes himself and the melody of Mary Had a Little Lamb makes sense! For my elder boy who started piano lessons 7 months ago, this book is a fun way to practise sight reading. As his normal piano practices get more difficult, involving both hands, more multitasking and more notes, I find it helpful to break the monotony and up the fun factor. Playing on this book's mini keyboard to familiar tunes, reading new simple scores - make for a refreshing change and great morale booster! Playing tunes like Edelweiss and Auld Lang Syne reminds me of good old days! There's something so precious about sharing music with our kids. Need to introduce the Sound of Music movie to the kids soon ♥️ The musical's songs are officially stuck in my mind now.
My girl is 2YO and she been very resistant to Chinese language since we started wanting to expose her to more! She love English books and would always sit and read but Chinese books have not been well received for her. I am very glad that lixin introduces me to some sound books that are Chinese! We used it as a trigger to get her interested and excited about Chinese books and I must say it works! After about 1month or so of working with her using the materials we got from My Story Treasury, she have started to pick up some Chinese words and would dance to Chinese sounds! Thank you Lixin and thank you My Story Treasury! I will definitely come back for more books!!
