๐ Last Saturday, my 8 year old ๐ฆ๐ป and I went for the @sgmontessori 6-12 class on
Connections in the Universe,
together with @globalmindfuljourney, @moomoovi,
@4__of__us__ and another family!
(Thanks for sharing the videos and pictures!)
๐ค We had an eye-opening outdoor lesson
on the Long Black Strip
illustrating the passage of time
from the creation of Earth
till the coming of humans.
๐ Then we returned to The Attic to make
our very own fossils
with our guide Karen @k.for.kinder!
๐ Suddenly, I spotted @mystorytreasury's
ใ่็ซ็ซ็็ซน่่ซใbook
from ๆ็็ฌฌไธๅฅ่ช็ถ่ฎค็ฅไนฆ
My First Nature Encyclopedia (Set of 40)
on display,
next to the stick insect tank!
After many minutes of stillness,
one stick insect decided to take a walk.
Did it purposely poke
the biggest stick insect Twiggy?
I wonder.
What I do know was that
Twiggy was so startled,
it poked another stick insect
while trying to find its footing.
The third stick insect
had to make way!
Soon Twiggy stabilised itself,
and started chomping on a leaf.

๐น I shared the video with my other kids later at home,
who found the chain of events so funny!
๐ We then read the book ใ่็ซ็ซ็็ซน่่ซใ
filled with lovely real-life photographs.
This bookset is one of our favourite,
and weโve gone back to it
so many times over the years.
In the book, we also learnt about leaf insects.
The camouflages are so cool!
๐ก Later on, together with my 6 year old ๐ฆ๐ป,
we identified some ้จ้ฆ radicals and
primary/single-component words
from the words in the title.

๐ญ We wondered whether
there are stick insects
in the wild in Singapore,
and found out that there are!
Recently I've discovered several amazing Instagram accounts
that feature our local biodiversity.
Do check their pages out,
learn about the cool
flora and fauna in Singapore, and
show these some incredible accounts some love! โค๏ธ
