I have to admit I don't know some of the idioms and what they means. The books are interesting to me. Read to my daughter (3 years old), I think the book is difficult for her age group to understand but nevertheless it is good to just read aloud to her and expose her to more Chinese in our English speaking environment. My daughter likes the many characters in the books and like to refer them to the back of book (character map).
We love the book and the pop ups and flaps make the story comes to live!
My toddler loves these stick books. It’s been a great way to keep her engaged meaningfully as we speak mandarin. It doesn’t come naturally for us so these have been a great start/help! Will purchase the next level too!
My 5 year old and I love this set. We can relate to so many of the things written in it and those tt we cant, like winter and gg out on hikes in mountains, they r educational too. What I like most is the warnings of dangerous activities like putting beans into nose... my son never did it but it is gd that through the pictures, we can talk about it. Language wise is not difficult.
My daughter and I really enjoyed this book. By the end of the book she could recognise and read the words herself because of the repetition. It also struck a chord in both of us, as we are always rushing about and I am always saying, "hurry up, hurry up!" Love the reminder to slow and and appreciate the little things in life that we take for granted! The drawings and colours are also great talking points.
These cards are a great way to learn the beginnings of Chinese characters! The paper quality is solid, so when my baby grabs at it, it does not disintegrate or crumple. I show my baby the picture card first to spark interest, then follow up with the corresponding Chinese character! Even I learnt a few things from these cards!
Great entertainment for my 2yo girl who loves to dance to the tunes. Easy selection of songs with a push of the buttons. Brushes up her understanding of Mandarin when i introduce dance moves according to the song played.
A very beautifully illustrated book that was such fun to read! My toddler loves it and we keep going back to these books :)
Have yet to show it to my 2year old boy but am excited to introduce it during the Mid Autumn Festival! Colours and illustrations are attractive and engaging. Pop up are also easy to navigate. I like how the book includes traditions such as family gathering to make and have mooncakes. I will probably introduce it to my son together with mooncakes and a cup of tea :)
