Did you catch us on the news? We were featured alongside @littledayout on @ch8sg news, where I briefly shared our experience and footage of our recent 🌙🦉 night walk at Mandai Forest and evening 🦀🌅 intertidal walk at Changi Beach Park.
Growing up, I remember watching 6.30pm and 10pm news on Channel 8 with my late grandma. It was absolutely surreal to watch the same news program many years later, now with my own kids. It was also quite an interesting experience to go through the filming process and see it on live television.
I hope you have a great week ahead!

🔦 In the Spotlight
与众不同的朋友 Special Friends (Set of 6)
After searching for many years for beautiful Chinese books featuring families and kids with special needs and disabilities, I'm excited to finally find them and introduce them to you.
Each book shows how they endure teasing from other kids, their internal struggles, how their family supports them, how the community rallies behind them. It also teaches us important lessons of accepting others though they may be different from us, showing them kindness through our actions and words.
I hope these books will help facilitate these important conversations with your children.
How do we teach our kids in this day and age to be grateful? How do we explain what is injustice? How do let them know that there are many people in the world whose lives look very different from us?
This book is based on a the true story of two Pakistani children, Iqbal Masih who spoke up against child slavery, and Malala Yousafzai (Worlds youngest Nobel Prize laureate, born in 1997!) who championed for female education.
I recently came across this book and when I read it with my 6 year old, it gave me goosebumps. I thought the topics will be too heavy for a child, but he was really intrigued and followed through the story. I'm glad I had an opportunity to share with him about oppression and slavery.
开心小猪和大象哥哥 Elephant and Piggie (Set of 17)
This classic set of Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems always has kids in giggles, and are awesome for budding readers to practise high frequency words.
The kids used to request me to read a whole load at a time as they really enjoy these books! I give these books full credit for teaching my kids how to read words like 在,能,要,会 that got my kids stumped in 四五快读 as they were less concrete. Over time, they started reading by themselves and to each other in funny voices.
PS: We've got a bunch of brand new but imperfect copies on sale as well. Also check out the reviews by other happy customers too!
🥰 My Story Treasury IRL
Highly recommended Chinese comics for local primary school students! My 6 and 8 year old boys really enjoy it. So many times I find them quietly reading and chuckling away… in the living room, on their beds, in the car!
