Lots of thinking, reading,
discussing, learning.
About
#covid19,
#circuitbreakersg ending,
kids going back to school,
a new, changing way of life.
And the #georgefloyd incident that surfaced conversations on
racism,
prejudice,
inequality,
privilege,
peace.
Conversations in lands far away,
in our own country,
in our hearts.
What do we think?
What do we do?
What do we tell our children?
What would our children tell their children?
How do these moments in history shape us?
For many days, I wasn't sure what to share on social media,
with the recent flurry of eloquent and passionate posts
on various trending topics.
What can I do to add value to the community,
what can I share to build others up?
Perhaps my place in this space
is to continue sharing great books.
Books that
open our eyes to see the world beyond our existence,
cause us to ponder,
urge us to put ourselves in others' shoes,
teach us important lessons,
stir us to make changes
in our hearts
in our homes
in this world.
May we raise a generation of children who grow up to be adults who
think,
work hard and play hard,
find ways to adapt and survive,
love deeply,
care for the struggles of others, and
use their privilege to better their fellow man.
