We’re definitely not alone in our bilingual parenting journey!
So many times over the years, I’ve felt like a crazy lady…
trying to improve my own rusty Mandarin and
trying to speak Mandarin to my kids
despite their great resistance and refusal.
There were many questions and tears (from kids, and yes, from me too).
There weren’t many resources, I didn’t know many who had the same goals as me, there weren’t many communities around.
Over time,
I’ve learnt not to lament for things I don’t have,
but dream big,
seek out people to learn from,
research research research,
walk alongside other like-minded families,
and work hard to create what I’ve always hoped for.
Would you like to join us in our bilingual nature walks and reading sessions sometime? (:
We’re hoping to organise more events during the year end school holidays with @sgmontessori!
Let us know if you’re keen! ✨
