Murphy has always been different. He always feels like he does not belong. Yet he is a very special assistance dog. Will Muphy ever recognise that he can make the world a brighter place, in his own unique way?

This story is about Murphy 菲菲, a diabetic alert dog, who is trained to pick up changes in smell of its owner 甜儿's sweat when her blood sugar levels are low. 菲菲 also happens to be born blind and found love, belonging and a sense of purpose in 甜儿's home.

I particularly love this uplifting excerpt from Wei Teng's story,
illustrated by Quek Hong Shin and translated by Yi Zheng

"每个人都是独一无二的。
只要用心去发掘自己的潜能,
就可以用自己的方式去帮助别人,
让这个世界更美好。“

In this world there are many people with differing abilities and living with different medical issues, facing different kinds of hardship. It's often hard to talk about such topics with our kids, but I'm really grateful to come across stories like 菲菲你真棒 that make it easier to approach these topics and have discussions about them!

My 2 year old daughter loved this book once we started reading it because of the beautiful illustrations and also the storyline. She kept asking why the dog is blind and also what he is doing to help the main character who has type 1 diabetes. It’s really an informative book to learn from and we love it!
