This is a jaw-dropping set with so many 3d scenes! These beautiful books keep my kids busy for a long time, and every time we read it, we discover something new. As a parent, I'm all for making learning Chinese fun and engaging, and this set of books definitely keeps them coming back for more!

Titles in set:

  • 《毛毛虫去哪儿了》 Where Did Caterpillar Go?
It's an interesting story of a snail making friends with a caterpillar. The snail witnesses changes in the caterpillar, and couldn't even recognise its friend! The interactive flaps and components of this title really brings the life cycle of a butterfly and caterpillar to life. My favorite part in this book is the flapping of the butterfly's wings - really love how it moves and the paper art wizardry still boggles my mind! The last page of the butterfly eclosing from the chrysalis is so beautiful too.
If you have a chance, rear some caterpillars for a wonderful hands-on experience and to see its life cycle up close!
If you'd like to dig deeper, check out butterflycircle.com to learn more about local butterflies, or join their Facebook group to get connected with local butterfly lovers!

  • 《我不要变大怪物》I Don't Want To Turn Into A Big Monster
Explore the life cycle of frogs in this fun title! Follow the journey the metamorphosis of a frog, from a frog eggs, to tadpoles, froglets then to adult frogs.
You may wish to take a virtual tour of Singapore's Jurong Frog Farm on Youtube, or if you're game, to try the famous frog porridge at Geylang or frog legs at your nearby zichar stall! P.S. it may taste similar to chicken.
Here's a video we enjoyed with real footage of the growth of tadpoles into frogs, really really eye-opening!

  • 《森林里的樱桃树》The Cherry Tree In The Forest
Learn about how the cherry tree is like through the different seasons. Did you know that cherry trees and cherry blossom trees are both from the same botanical genus Prunus? Some cherries are grown more for their yummy fruit, some are grown more for their beautiful flowers! We went to find out after reading this book, that many animals in real life enjoy cherries, like birds, squirrels, deer, bears, rabbits and even foxes!

  • 《我们长得不一样》We look different
This really interesting title explores the similarities and differences between chicks and ducklings, ranging from how they were born, their appearances, the sound they make to the things they can do!
Wild chickens can be found in several parks in Singapore - we've seen several families repeatedly at Bukit Batok Nature Park, Singapore Botanical Gardens and Labrador Nature Reserve.

Love the pop-up!

Ny son saw the book and heard about this story through Yes 933 DJ Jia Hui's storytime. He absolutely loves the book. Amazing illustrations and super interactive pop-ups. Highly recommended :)

One of the most used books in our home!

Pop-ups are wonderfully crafted. Generally simple and easy to understand storyline ines except for the story of the 毛毛虫 which made us a little confused after reading it😅. Kids not only flip them independently, they would ask me to read it to them as well (even though the stories are fairly lengthy). A must-add to the home library!

Thank you Joen for taking the time to write to us! Heartened to hear that these pop-up books are so well-loved! Yes, I agree the caterpillar title is a little lacklustre in terms of the storyline, but I'm sure the other stories and the interactive elements more than make up for it. Thank you for recommending these to your friends and family! We appreciate you (:
