One of my favorite memories of school life growing up was mass singing at assembly.
The lyrics of songs would be flashed on the screen at the front of the stage and students would sing in unison.

In the weeks leading up to Singapore's National Day 9 August, our family would watch music videos of patriotic songs shown on TV in between programs, and listen to tunes played in public places like supermarkets and shops! I still remember the only National Day Parade I've ever been to at Primary 5, and singing these songs with my friends and Singaporeans in the stadium. Always brings feelings of wonder and gratitude to be born and raised here on this Little Red Dot!

It's been so many years, but I can still remember the lyrics of many songs by heart (:

Recently, I've been introducing these songs to my kids and learning the lyrics together. Inspired by the Chinese New Year songsheets that my kids' schoolteachers gave out yearly, we've put together some printable lyrics for some popular Chinese songs about Singapore!
