好无聊啊好无聊 It's So Boring!

Year end school holidays are round the corner, and I'm going to schedule in unstructured time for the kids to just "do nothing" at home. I bet I'm going to hear the phrase "Mama, I'm bored!" a little more often!

Our interactive books are perfect boredom busters! I especially love songbooks with singing and instrumental tracks, for awesome Mandarin input when I'm not with the kids.

When travelling or going for long drawn dinners, we usually prep

• a new / kept-for-a-long-time toy (toy car works well for my boys)
• sticker books
• bubble bottles
• a new book
• writing materials and notebook

A personal tip, used as a last resort when kids are bored at home - I take a big box of books kept away for the past half a year, and tell the kids "Wow..... we have lots of books in the house! But many of them haven't been read in a long time. I wonder if they would be better appreciated in another home." Usually results in them flipping books, magazines and comics for the rest of the afternoon!
